Officers reported they were notified by a individual who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Cars, walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Law enforcement state they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then located multiple other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement state early analysis show the fluid was likely human blood.

"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; investigators are not yet cognizant of any injuries in relation with the incident," they added.

City officials stated they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the residents for tips.

A high-ranking representative commented the incident rendered him without words and had to be addressed promptly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on social media, referring to the murder of nine victims by a assailant focusing on people of immigrant origin in 2020.
